D3 Services Granted U.S.’s First GSA for Secure Destruction and 100% Green Recycling of eWaste

TAMPA, FL (June 11, 2008) – At the Tampa
Bay Technology Forum, central Florida's largest and most influential
technology association, Digital Data Destruction Services (D3) today
announced that it has been granted the United States’ first General
Services Administration (GSA) contract for the secure destruction and
100% green recycling of electronic media. HIPAA, FACTA,
Gramm-Leach-Bliley, and Sarbanes-Oxley ompliant, D3’s patented
equipment is the first of its kind to be approved for the safe
destruction of classified military data.
The green recycling of the electronic media by-products makes D3 the
only company in the United States to comply fully with the existing
eWaste legislation passed in five states, and soon to be the industry
norm across the US.

the digital data destruction requirements of HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley,
FACTA and Sarbanes-Oxley Federal legislation" said Dr. Roger Hutchison,

Through GSA contract GS-10F-0137U under Schedule 899-5, D3 now
servicesWiscons in and Minnesota. However, plans are already well
underway to expand to include Southern California, Texas,
Massachusetts, Colorado, as well as the Washington DC region.
To date, D3 offers the only commercially available ISO 9002 compliant
destruction process for hard drives, tapes, flash, and optical media
using equipment evaluated and in use by the Department of Defense for
the destruction of classified data. The quality control procedures,
high security equipment and personnel, the fact that all by-products
are recycled, and now the Government certification all give D3 a unique
position in this growing eWaste niche.
